I realize I should wait until things dry completely before making decisions, but I am way too impatient, and it's rare I have this kind of free time. Here it is basically dry (dry to the touch) but I realize it might look a little different (better) in a couple hours.

Here is red using glitter paint, instead of metallic paint.

Again, it looks better when a light is shining right on it (the room I'm doing this has no direct light on the shorts). I REALLY appreciate the feedback everyone has given both here and on IM. Thank you!

In the spirit of the High Holidays, I would like to take this opportunity to invite anyone I may have hurt, angered or offended this past year (or earlier than that) to make me aware of this fact so I can make ammends and we can resolve our differences. I realize this is a hard thing to do, and I promise not to use what you say against you or as an opportunity to fight, even if I don't agree. I will screen comments for privacy, just let me know if it's okay to unscreen them.

Thank you!

Going out to your car to find it already cleared of snow, and freed from the ice :)

You are three years old today! And don't worry, we bought you presents! Including a doggie beer, now that you are "21"

In case you aren't on Larry's flist, go read his post about the engagement. It has a sample picture of the ring from the dealers website, but the actual one is even more beautiful. Larry went all out on the clarity and quality of the stone, and the sparkle is amazing. It made me realize why diamonds became so valuable :)

I should make that picture into an icon or something. I'm going to need a wedding related one :)

Larry and I were on the road to Atlantic City by 10:00 am, which was pretty good by our standards. Since we were in no hurry, we stopped for a leisurely lunch, sprung for valet parking, and gambled for a little before heading up to the room. The $ count so far is: me a little up, Larry a little down. I found the salon here- I'm totally going to get an overpriced haircut.

After a few hours we found our room. They were going to upgrade us to a suite, but it turns out we were staying too long. I actually don't mind- the room is gorgeous and we have a spectacular view of the shore. This, however, was not the first thing I saw when I walked in the room. Set on a table in front of the window were the most beautiful flowers I have ever received. Two dozen long stem red roses, perfectly aranged. I was so touched. Larry gets me flowers often enough to make me think I am the luckiest girl in the world, but he has never gotten me roses. As I was preening over the flowers, Larry directs my attention to a package. I opened it while teasing him about buying me fancy underpants. Inside was a bag of Cracker Jacks and this letterCollapse )

I said yes, of course. And true to his word, Larry  has, as of this moment, proposed to me five different ways. The letter/Cracker Jacks was one (for those not in the know, he has teased me about proposing with a Cracker Jacks ring). The card on the roses, which I found later, was the second. Next was a bottle of champange with "Kate, will you marry me?" on the label. Three was a card with this comic- and Larry's note saying "some ideas are better left undone." The most recent was leaving the ringbox under my room service tray.

And yes, the ring is gorgeous. It refuses to be properly photographed, so you'll have to wait to see it in person. Indeed, if you want to see it in person, we are here all week and invite all of our friends to visit us and celebrate. Apparently Larry still has two more "proposals" up his sleeve for the week- for a total of 7. My lucky number. And I'm probably going to give it away by saing so, but I will say "yes" each time.

I really am the luckiest girl in the world!
